So last night after I put the girls to bed, I brought up my lino cutting supplies and have it a go!
I really enjoyed playing around with the different cutting tips, and can't wait to make some prints for Christmas gifts! I have my Grandad's tattoo in mind - should be really fun to attempt to re-create!

My First Lino Cut!
Tuesday Finds!
So on my way to the Guild today I stopped by my Dad's new place, which happens to be literally two minutes away from the guild! How awesome that'll be!!
He was getting rid of some old doors... And I was able to claim something off of them!
Some vintage glass knobs!!! So exciting the possibilities! I'm thinking of making a coat hook with the old door knobs. Should be a neat way to utilize them.
Then I headed to the guild. To glaze!
I totally didn't get all my pieces glazed, but I did get my cousin's kids handprints done, do that was great! Now I'm anxious to see how the glazing turns out.
I glazed a few other pieces also! And I even put a few bisqued pieces in to be fired. Some from the extruder workshop the other Sunday.
And here's a picture of my cubby. I was in quite a rush to get back to my Mum's (she was watching the girls! ;) so I really just ran and grabbed two boxes and gently, yet swiftly [read: as fast as I could] put them in it and shoved them in my cubby!

Some Crafty Gifts!
So this past weekend we celebrated my in-laws 35th wedding anniversary! Below are some "red neck wine glasses" that we made for them...
I also spent some time with the girls and they painted themselves with Oma and Pa! I just love their art work!
Jessica painted her, Oma, Pa, and then Amanda. There's a sun with some clouds and rain. Also some circles...
Amanda's I think is awesome! She did her's all on her own... There's Jessica, Pa, Oma, and Amanda. In the bottom middle she signed her initial "A". I stopped Amanda from adding more to her painting because I loved how her people were so simple and I didn't want that to get lost if she added more. She did circles for the heads, and sticks for the arms and legs, and even added a body aswell! Kind of tricky to see, but they're there. Not too shabby for a 2 year old!!!
They wanted to continue painting so they painted on paper for a bit more...

Sunflower!
Over the course of four days I photographed the blossoming of our sunflower located on the edge of our garden. A neat thing to watch each day!
And below is some of my GORGEOUS Zinnia's! I absolutely adore them - I really am enjoying having a cutting garden this year!

Another Teapot!
So today at the guild, I made another teapot. This teapot is something that I've had in my mind for about a year now, and since the extruder workshop I finally had some extruded clay to work with!
I made two lids for it, and I'll show the one I like the best first. It was fun to make, and I'm so glad that I took the time to create it!
Below is some pictures I took in the midst of making...
I also completed some other extruded pieces from the workshop. A few vases, and some mugs...
I also put the wall plaque and a casserole dish in the bisque room.
When we got home from my Mum's, we checked on the chickens. The girls gave them some food and cuddles.
Some even love to roost in up the trees! Too funny!
Earlier in the day, I was pretty close to a cardinal - so beautiful and red!

Extruder Workshop
This past Sunday I took an extruder workshop with Ana Matos. It was a great workshop, and I think I'll have a few interesting pieces as a result!
Above is a triangle extrusion that I did first... It's going to be a little pitcher.
And below is some octagon(?) extrusions that I made into mugs. Unfortunately I forgot to take anymore pictures of my stuff completed! I will this upcoming Wednesday though!
And at the end there was even a parade or something that was strolling on by! Rather random!

My First Handbuilt Teapot!
Here's some pictures from start to finish of the process. I had a great time making it... But the hours I spent (around 7 or so) making it in the greenware stage made it a bit more arduous than I had anticipated! But I'm so happy I took the time out for myself to actually make it!
So all the above pictures were taken on the night of Wednesday the 11th (of July, 2012) and then the following morning I continued on after my late night...
And the final product... !!!! I kind of think that why it took me a bit longer then I had hoped to make it was because I reinforced almost all the seams with a coil and blended that in. I was going for a fully functional pot, in the hopes that it would be really durable for everyday use...
