So yesterday at he guild I mainly cleaned up some of my mugs that I've been working on. Most were still too wet to put in the kiln room to bisque fire, so I just wrapped them up again.
I also made a couple of slab bowls with lots of texture... I'm hoping they dry enough for next week!
I then practiced throwing on the wheel a little bit... I can still get that piece of balled up tape up through the center of the clay! Woo hoo!!! :)
I also took a picture of some things I put in the kiln room for a bisque firing... I'm excited to give the small mugs to the girls. They've been asking me to make them some mugs and stuff for a while.
The girls came to the guild a couple of weeks ago (?) so I put their platters in the kiln room aswell. Really proud of how they are both advancing in the decoration techniques. Amanda doesn't jab her paint brush into the clay, and Jessica has started to put simple designs into her work! I love doing crafty things with the girls, and I'm so glad that I can enjoy pottey with them ~ even though it gets a little hectic at times (hence no pictures of the platters in the making, lol!).
I covered a tumbler in a black/blue slip and brought it home to work on some sgraffito (carving?) in the clay. A little project to work on late at night when I'm just relaxing from the day and sitting down watching tv.
I also snapped a quick picture of the guild from the rear entrance way, just outside the kiln room...
